Dr. Richard D. Kimmel
Dr. Kimmel is a Nationally Recognized Board Certified Cardiothoracic and Vascular (CTV) Surgeon who has been in private practice in South Florida since 1991. He is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians, a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, a Clinical Investigator with the NIH, an Affiliate Member of the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center of the University of South Florida, and an Assistant Clinical Instructor in Surgery at the Nova-Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Davie, Florida.
Dr. Kimmel is currently honored to be the President Elect the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (ACOS) for 2013-14. Until then, he will serve for one year as President-elect under the new President, Adam Smith, DO, FACOS, and will then take over in November 2013. The ACOS represents all Osteopathic Surgeons throughout the country from the fields of General Surgery, Cardiothoracic/Vascular Surgery, Plastic/Reconstructive Surgery, Neurosurgery and Urologic Surgery. Dr Kimmel has been a past Chairman (2004-6) and ACA Program Chair (1999, 2000) of the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Discipline, as well as a member of the Board of Governors since 2007.
Dr. Kimmel’s experience has made The Kimmel Institute a designated training center for other physicians and their staffs in the use of the Dornier Laser System for vein treatments and vein center management.

Alice Rodriguez Brockwell brings 20 years of medical care, and specialty focus in aesthetics services to The Kimmel Institute. Ms. Brockwell is certified in Sclerotherapy, Botulin Toxin A (Botox®) Aesthetic Rejuvenation, and Dermal Fillers (Hyaluronic Acid/Restylane®). Providing optimal health, wellness, beauty, and education to the entire life span of patients is Ms. Brockwell’s professional passion.
Our Staff
Dr. Richard Kimmel’s staff includes Julie Foster, R.N., who has worked with him since 1994. She is directly involved with patient clinical care. Dr. Kimmel also works with Clara Lingerfeldt, RVT, and Melissa Briggs, RVT, both of whom are registered Vascular Ultrasound Lab technologists who perform vascular ultrasound studies and assist with our office-based vein treatments. Dr. Kimmel and his staff, including Office Administrator Donna Streck and Nurse Suzanne Finley-Fox, R.N., are all committed to providing the best quality of care possible, in a personalized and friendly setting.
In his practice, Dr. Kimmel uses the Dornier laser system, a highly effective and modern approach to treating all kinds of vein conditions. The Dornier laser allows for unparalleled precision and accuracy, eliminating the need for painful and invasive vein surgery and cutting procedure time down to 45 minutes or less. As a nationally recognized Boca Raton vein doctor, Dr. Richard Kimmel also routinely trains new physicians in the latest advanced vein treatment procedures including endovenous laser treatment, ambulatory phlebectomy and other techniques.
Dr. Kimmel has more than 20 years of experience performing both thoracic and vascular procedures and working with patients with a variety of vein disorders. He and his staff strive to provide effective, personal, and friendly vein care to all of their patients. As an established Boca vein doctor, Dr. Richard Kimmel is familiar with the Boca Raton area and through more than 20 years of practice has been able to establish lasting relationships with his patients and with the community.
